This one was based on an anecdote from a friend of mine who lived in residence. I actually stayed off-campus during my university years, so I only lived the crazy ‘res’ life vicariously through other people. One day, this friend explained to me that her residence’s washrooms had a bunch of shower stalls and a tub, but that no one ever actually used the tub because it never looked clean. Something about that lonely tub just clicked with me. It was the kind of thing that just begged to be in the strip.

I also loved the concept of fractured privacy, which seems to also be a constant factor in a residence. Just the idea of you taking a relaxing bath only to be interrupted by some strangers coming in and pointing at you … well, I thought it was pretty funny. Still do. Panel three is priceless.
