IT’S JULY! NEW VOTING INCENTIVE!!!
Patrons had a bunch of choices of ‘C’ words and they chose ‘cabaret’. Delightfully dated.
In other news…
First, this comic is brought to you again by the good people who support me on Patreon, with a special shout-out to The Lurker, Paul Gabbard, Jeremy, and alphanor, who ALL became Mayor of Pucksburg for this month! It’s a title that comes with rewards, including actual original comic art getting mailed to you. If you’re interested in keeping the Puck comics flowing, and maybe gaining some fun perks, CHECK OUT THE PATREON!!!
As for this comic…
This is the last of these nerd store comics before we go to another little interstitial bit as we build toward the big heist. It’s coming. I promise.
Respect The Colin!
He is periodically useful.
As we can all aspire to be.
Talk about showing off the true power of being a nerd. It’s a power that is not to be underestimated at times. Respect in the past to pave a way for the future.
… We look to the past as we head for the future to reclaim the Digital World …
Colin: not the hero Cy expected, but the hero Cy needed!
I almost used a line like that in panel four. Almost.
I grew up with Digimon, I’ll admit.
And then you later learn that the episodes with unresolved plots that fill you with Fridge Horror (you didn’t know the words until you discovered TvTropes, over a decade or more later) all came from the same writer that lead to the horrors you would see in Season 3.. (Seriously, if I’d had a tape and a translation key at the time, I would have learned that the sign read “Innsmouth” in digital script).
Digimon took its fans on a real … journey. I’ve heard stories. Pretty nuts for a kids’ property like that.
Wikipedia, the untrustworthy cliff’s notes of the digital age.
I’m willing to bet that the wiki is only about the 80s movie with Max Von Sydow and the Queen soundtrack.
A movie from a wiser time when Hollywood could revisit a property without having to totally retcon the whole thing. It’s currently easier to access the original serial. I guess they are in public domain now.
Nah, Wikipedia don’t got the good stuff. We’re talking fan wikis, where there are in-depth summaries and analyses of every single scrap of content a property has ever made. My primary reading material is TFwiki.net, the single greatest repository of knowledge on this planet.
Wikipedia is DELETING the good stuff because “no original research” and similar rules.
Its funny I don’t remember ever watching that show but I do know who Ming the Merciless is. Geekdom through osmosis I guess.
It’s somehow a thing. I saw an episode or two when I was little. As for the rest, I’ve got some passive cultural connection.
A lot of my nerd knowledge comes to me that way. So you’re in good (or bad) company.
Even the two guys up on the shelf in Panel Four look happy to see her go.
Her pushing her boobs together in frustration is making her shirt look cross-eyed.
You noticed. That says something about you.
Eyes on the prize Colin. You need a getaway van, not a cappuccino.
Well, I assume the cappuccino is in addition to the van.
Oh noes, did she have to parodize Shakespeare like that? >wince< I hope Colin gets all the free cappuccinos he wants. 🙂
She did.
