This week’s Puck is brought to you by Bill Taylor, creator of TRIPP. If you don’t already read Tripp, you should. Right now. This comic, by the way, is all him. He wrote it, drew it, everything. Managed to get it working right with the continuity, even though he created it almost half a year ago. Bill Taylor is a comic-making machine, let me tell you.

The joke’s a pretty accurate play on my actual situation. Powers beyond my control have forced me for professional reasons to take three ‘additional qualification’ courses back to back. These courses have been eating up about twenty hours of my time a week, in addition to my full-time job and the comic. At long last they’re finally over. I submitted the major assignment for the third course on Sunday, and I feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Bill’s generous offer to do a guest comic allowed me to get that final beast of a paper finished. So thanks for doing me a solid, Bill.

There’s so much to love in this strip here. It’s the little details he gets right, like the Puck rage face, and the red halo of fury. He’s managed to hit that awkward place between cute and frightening where Puck normally resides. He’s good.

Now go read his comic.

DECEMBER VOTING INCENTIVE: ROB FORD VS. SATAN?!?

In a competition of evil, which frightening mayor in southern Ontario would actually win? I had to do this. Do you know how often I can pull off a joke about local municipal politics and have an international audience get the joke? Never. Until now.
